Starkey

PJ Geissinger aka Starkey is blessed with musical arrangement skill's that would leave most composers green faced with envy. This combined with his high production ethic makes him a formidable force not only in the underground but also as a super producer of the future. Starkey is yet another example of what the streets of Philadelphia can create, his sound hits hard and is littered with bass and colourful audio frequencies. If you like grime, dubstep, hip hop and all things "street bass" then Starkey's hard edged spaced out crunk is the sound for you.

Slides on (and slips off) like a silk kimono.

Did it hurt?
When?
When you fell from heaven.

Some describe this as being smooth but lets be honest..No. But what is smooth are the new tracks coming out of Louisiana wunderkind Christoph Andersson. “Metropol,” is a smooth house track with resampled vocals to create a formant-shifted choir around a rubbery funk bassline, while an Eastern-flavored track slides over the top! Did I mention he is only 18?

Enjoy this electronic, mellow, feel-good electronic music.

Laidback Luke @ Platinum

About 17 months ago I got the pleasure of seeing Sidney Samson in the small Broad Beach nightclub Platinum. It was easily the best night I've had on the Goldcoast and I didn't think it would ever get topped; I was wrong! Platinum has recently announced that Laidback Luke would indeed be playing at their venue this Saturday night!!! For all you new Bondies who arn't familiar with the electro scene yet, this is an event that cannot be missed. Lately he's been working with massive artists such as David Guetta and Lil Jon, but in the past has remixed hits from nearly every major artist . . . literally. He's been ranked as high as #27 in the top 100 DJs poll which make famous familiar hits inevitable this weekend. Save at least $30 for cover and show up before capacity is reached, I'd recommend before 11.

Beardyman Essential Mix

While doing my requisite perusal of the 12 hours of awesome electronic broadcasting that the BBC puts out every week on Radio 1's Friday night dance music marathon, I came across a rather interesting Essential Mix courtesy of the legendary Pete Tong. His name is Beardyman, and his two hour set is unique in that he used only his voice, a plethora of live samplers and effects units, and a keyboard to put together his set. No records, songs, or pre recorded material was used. Mind blowing stuff!

Beardyman is well known in the UK and on Youtube for his amazing live sets. A two time UK beatboxing champion, he has played such events as Bestival, Breakfest, and Fujirock festival in Japan. Have a look/listen for yourselves but be sure to check out what will become one of the most unique, and madd Essential Mixes of 2011

Day Bow Bow x Me & You x Money For Nothing Mash Up

I first got the idea for this mash up while listening to Skism's NSD vol 7 mixtape. He starts his mix off with this cheeky little number that I'm guessing he live mixed and I thought to myself "Damn I want that track!" So like any good Rattfink I set about creating the real deal myself. The beginning is a nudge to a certain pool cleaner (Hope you like it Poolman). I was hoping to open my set at Don's with it on thursday but I'd rather spin decks than an iPod jog wheel. Here you go hope you enjoy it!

Skrillex

With non-stop sets being played at my house for the past 2 weeks, I've become a big fan of Skrillex. The guy is constantly mixing up his style and always seems to keep me guessing. Playing everything from dubstep to "sleazy" electro, it's no surprise that artistdirect.com described him as, " a multi talented, multi project one-man machine." Here are a few of his hits, hope you enjoy!

Skrillex - Fucking Die (Cooper Mix)

My personal favourite
Casxio - Seventeen (Skrillex Remix)

Black Eyed Peas - Rock That Body (Skrillex Remix)

I thought I was BulletProof

In the past chasing down good music was a bit of an acquired skill. Following the clues on sleeve notes, wrenching tips from the sarcastic bastards behind the counter or just grabbing a album because it had a massive pair of tits on it.
The world of digital music is rendering this sleuthing somewhat obsolete and now stumbling across good tunes is not unlike stalking Facebook. Skipping merrily through profile links and laughing at your ex misses who’s been packing on the pounds or your old school mates who are now toothless, and have 3 kids. Lucky for us we are not in the past! Bondie Beats is back giving you the best in new electronic music.

When you consider that the complex audio waverform and the written word are
just so far removed from one another the very existence of the music press is baffling.
Even with the vast array ofadjectives at our disposal using the written word to convey how a piece of music sounds is so subjective as to render music journalism completely fucking pointless. You may as well ask a bartender to mix a cocktail about St Pauls Cathedral, or a choreogapher to sequence a dance about soot. Here’s THE BEST remixes of bullet Proof pending release, they go gobble gobble , crack wop wop wop wop they are really quite good.

Stay posted, Bondie Beats steps up a gear in 2011!

Afrojack

Give the people what they want.
Over the past year Afrojack has moved from House dj/producer to household name. His meteoric rise can best be attributed to his signature "Dutch horn" style of synth and his electrifying live sets. Anyone that was lucky enough to catch this maestro at Stereosonic can attest to this; he brought the crowd to their knees.
With such a huge following of eager ears I'd be crazy not to endeavor to post an uber-load of Afrojack on Bondie Beats.
So here we go. Some of his better tracks and remixes for your listening and downloading pleasure. Spread the word!!!

Week 1 Events

oh man.
The party gods have been kind to us Bondies yet again. Week 1 is shaping up to be a slayer of a good time. That's right kids, in between those lectures on how plagiarism is bad and how to get on to iLearn, BUSA, Red Bull, the LSA, and Bond's plethora of clubs are making sure that we'll be buying up the Gold Coast's supply of Goon and Nurofen (probably in that order).

Kicking it off tonight, the LSA presents another round of "Illegally Bond".
This soiree is a chance for the otherwise hardworking studious and over-caffeinated law students of Bond to let their hair down and to prove once and for all that they are the hardest partying bunch on campus. The party kicks off at the Swingin' Safari and is known to be savage. DJ Jacob Church will be supplying the grooves and good drink specials and a sweet environment always brings out the awesome in all of us.

On thursday there's the Red Bull i-Battle. For all those budding DJ's wanting to show the campus what you got then get on the decks and wow us! Each DJ duo gets three tracks with which to destroy Don's and the loudest response wins out overall. Doors open at 7:30 and from what I've heard the who's who of Bondie DJs are taking the challenge very seriously. It's gonna be massive.

Friday is club sign on day and we all know that that means: ANOTHER SEMESTER OF THE BASIC CLUB!!!! For all you that don't know, the BASIC club stands for Beer Appreciation and Social Intercourse Club. Becoming a member of this club means free beer, free events, and good times had by all. Last semester right as soon as your joined beer was thrust in your hand. From club sign on day it's off to the pub crawl and a spinny tour of all the bars and clubs you'll no doubt be in this semester. Be sure to get your shirts for either the 3pm or 4pm crawl.

Big things coming. Holy Schnikies I wrote a lot. Time for some tracks.

Funky

Coming from Arizona and Mexico, the Disco Villans de-construct and re-construct all the massive hits on the top 40 from around the world. For years they have been releasing at least one remix a week to keep the fans happy and increase their recognition. Although they have yet to headline any major events or festivals they have had the honor of playing with big names such as Lazaro, Casanova, Crookers, Shark Attack, and many more. With their persistence and producing talent it shouldn't be long until their on the top of the charts themselves. Enjoy Bondies, enjoy!

Stars on 45

Disco.
Yah that's right.
Another track to fill us with the ahhhwwooowooo woooo (think Duck Sauce) good feeling of disco house is here and I'm gonna give you guys a taste of three of my favorite remixes. Each remix is pretty awesome and fairly identical pick and choose which one gets your booty shaking the hardest. These guys are old as time but the vibe of danceable disco is alive and well. After Duck Sauce received platinum status for their single "Barbara Streisand", chopped up disco beats are once again making us dance like goons in the sun. Something that I personally think is awesome. Get out there and boogie. DO IT!

Field Day

A few days ago during the tail end of one of the longest and hardest benders of my life, I found myself in Sydney at Field Day. Unfortunately due to a large intake of multiple substances I was not able to see a good portion of the big acts. I did however come across some awesome DJs who deserve some recognition from the Bondie Beats crew.
First and foremost I'd like to introduce Yuksek, whose name means "high" in Turkish. . . how appropriate. He's currently signed to Sound of Barclay in Paris, and by the sounds of it isn't far from the top.

Yuksek - Tonight

Yuksek - Extraball

Next on the list is the Plump DJs. Coming from London and playing for an indie label, they really bring some energy to the crowd.

Plump DJs - Beat Myself Up

Finally a group we all know and love, Duck Sauce. I'm a big fan of their hits, but I was surprised at the quality of their other tracks. They are very difficult to find and relatively unknown, but enjoy!
